BATTHYÁNY

BATTHYÁNY

The Batthyány pattern captivates with its noble, yet playful distinction. The lines of the snow-white porcelain are emphasized by blue contours, each with a partner painted in gold. The unassuming gold plant motifs, spread out like a fan, lend an air of discriminating grace to these pieces. Among the first purchasers of the decor was the aristocratic Batthyány family, including Lajos Batthyány, prime minister during a brief, tragic interlude of independence in 1848. The name remembers him still.
